Contacts and audiences

Contacts are the people you can reach. Audiences are the groups you send to. Getting the numbers right here saves wasted credits later.

Importing

Import takes a CSV or Excel file. The wizard shows you which column it thinks is which, and you correct it before anything is saved.

contacts.csv
phone,name,city,order_id
+919137931503,Asha,Mumbai,SR-1042
+919812345678,Ravi,Delhi,SR-1043

Only phone is required. Every other column becomes a field you can use as a template variable.

Numbers

Write numbers in full international form, starting with the country code. Sendrix checks each one and tells you which rows it could not read before you commit the file.

Written asResult
+919137931503Accepted.
919137931503Accepted.
9137931503Rejected. No country code, so the country is a guess.
+91 91379 31503Accepted. Spaces are ignored.

Duplicates

A number already in your workspace is updated rather than added again, so re-importing a corrected file is safe. The import summary says how many were added and how many updated.

Audiences

An audience is a named list of contacts. Campaigns send to one. Build them however suits the work: by city, by what someone bought, by when they last replied.

ActionWhat it does
Add membersSearch contacts and add them individually or in bulk.
Bulk editAdd or remove many at once by pasting numbers.
DuplicateCopies an audience so you can trim it without touching the original.

Fields as variables

Every column you imported is available when building a campaign. A template with {{1}} can draw on the contact's name, city, or anything else you uploaded, and each person receives their own value.

Keeping lists clean

  • Remove numbers that fail repeatedly. The credit comes back, but every attempt still costs time, and a list full of dead numbers drags your quality rating down.
  • Send only to people who asked to hear from you. Spam reports pause templates and can restrict your number.
  • Re-import corrected files rather than editing rows one at a time.
